Alilea Leis |
A larger Pupu o Ni’ihau is the Alilea. Each shell is about 2/3 inch in size. Strung on heavier cord due to their size and weight, these leis heavier than the typical Ni’ihau leis you see and are more suited for use by men.
These leis look great on Fire Knife dancers, Paddlers, and na Kane looking for a strong masculine lei. We have a selection of both single ginger and double pikake Alilea leis available for purchase.
Alilea Lei - Ginger Lei
The single Alilea is strung in the ginger style, laying flat around the neck. It measures 22 inches in length. This lei can be made in longer or shorter lengths.

Alilea Lei - Ginger Lei 36 inch
A longer version of the single ginger style Alilea lei is also available. It measures 36 inches in length and is finished with a double cowrie clasp.
